Middle School Process

MIDDLE SCHOOL OVERVIEW (Grades 5-8)
The application process begins in the fall of the year before the student hopes to begin school at Poly Prep.

We encourage applications from students who have the ability and enthusiasm to benefit from and contribute to Poly Prep's diverse and intellectually rigorous learning community.

When Poly Prep receives your application for admission, you will receive notices about deadlines for supplemental information and testing.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1. JOIN POLY PREP'S MAILING LIST

By registering with Poly's Admissions Office, families will have access to our Open House registration and receive email updates regarding admissions events throughout the fall and winter.

2. ATTEND AN OPEN HOUSE

We encourage families to visit our campus to get to know more about Poly Prep's curriculum, country day school program, and diverse learning community. Open Houses consist of a brief information session followed by a student led tour of the campus and classrooms. Students are welcome to attend with their parent(s)/guardian(s). Our fall Middle School Open House dates are available online. We offer convenient online registration for Open Houses, as well.

3. COMPLETE ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Poly offers a convenient online application.  (Note: applicants must complete our online application before scheduling a student interview appointment.) Poly's application includes short answer questions for parents as well as a writing sample from the student. There is a $50 fee for Poly's online application. A copy of the previous year's report card is required when you complete your online application.

4. SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW

Poly offers a convenient online scheduling system. Please visit us in late August to register the student for an interview appointment. Applicants must complete our online application before scheduling a student interview appointment.

5. REGISTER FOR TESTING

Testing opportunities exist throughout the fall. Click here for more detailed information regarding testing requirements.

6. REQUEST OFFICIAL SCHOOL DOCUMENTS FROM YOUR CURRENT SCHOOL

Poly's admissions process requires two teacher recommendations and a transcript which includes attendance. We prefer recommendations from math and English teachers. If you have the same teacher for both these subjects, please submit a recommendation from the current and previous school year's head teacher.
