Middle School/Upper School Create A Mosaic Treasure Garden

Have you seen the the beautiful Mosaic Treasure Garden yet, near the greenhouse? It’s the result of an inspired, creative collaboration from Poly’s students, faculty, and staff.

Art teacher Adina Scherer’s Grade 5MR students designed the beautiful Mosaic Garden tiles on concrete blocks in spring 2019. Head of Operations Matt Stelluto and Visual Arts Department Chair Laura Coppola assisted members of the Upper School Service Board and Sustainability Club in measuring, scoring, digging, and leveling the ground before placing these treasures into a walkway. Scherer explained the colorful artworks embellishing the greenhouse entry represent buried treasures, the prizes at the end of treasure maps the students drew in class.
