WEATHER ALERT: Campuses Close at 1:15 PM

Today's forecast is snow, which turns to freezing rain in the afternoon. Due to potential hazardous road conditions, Poly's Dyker Heights and Park Slope campuses will close at 1:15 PM today, Wednesday, February 20. All after-school events and activities are cancelled. Buses will depart at 1:30 PM from both campuses. There will NOT be a 6:00 PM late bus for the Dyker Heights campus.

We encourage families to pick up students from the Park Slope campus promptly at 1:15 PM. Please email lsdismissals@polyprep.org if you have a change in your dismissal plans. Lower School personnel will be on site to accommodate children until 3:20 PM.

Our highest priority is the safety of all of the children and adults in our community. Please have a safe commute this afternoon.

This year Poly Prep is engaged in a school-wide focus on Social & Emotional Learning (SEL). Please join consultants from The Institute for Social and Emotional Learning on February 20 for an interactive and informative parent workshop.

The workshop will outline a framework for understanding the social and emotional development of adolescents and introduce some of the skills that Poly Prep Middle School students have been learning. You will hear about compelling research that highlights the importance of SEL to support student development, academic success, sense of belonging, health, and well-being.

Parents will learn creative ways to bring these SEL tools home and explore how a certain kind of listening can help adolescents strengthen emotional intelligence and develop independent and cooperative problem-solving skills. RSVP now.
