Renewable Artist Dr. Jill Sigman '85 to Present Earth Month Forum
As part of Poly's Sustainability initiatives during Earth Month, alumna and artist Dr. Jill Sigman '85 will present about her plans for a renewable art installation on campus during an Artist-in-Residence KIckoff Forum at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 24 on the Dyker Heights campus.
In our “Living Room” – Jill Sigman introduces her Poly Artist Residency
In This Earth Week Forum, meet Interdisciplinary Artist and Poly alum, Jill Sigman who begins a spring residency on our campus. Hear about her plans to build a structure called the “Living Room” out of yard waste, salvaged materials, and weedy plants in the Poly Oval. Jill will talk about her work with garbage, her experience as a movement artist, and her love of wild edible plants to give us a better understanding of her project. And she will ask for our input and help envisioning the structure to come.
This will be an extension of the forum she presented last year about her book Ten Huts. During her residency, she will be working with students,, faculty, administration, and the whole Poly community. Essentially, she will be making a hut on the Poly Oval.
