“It is not enough to understand data: we must recognize how it is crafted into information.
It is not enough to hold information: we must grasp its ability to create knowledge.
It is not enough to wield knowledge: we must know the costs of power if we are to shape the world with wisdom.”

Dylan Klett joined Poly Prep as an Upper School Computer and Information Science Department teacher in 2022. He grew up on the Connecticut shoreline, and after attending Wheaton College in Massachusetts and the New York Code and Design Academy, he became a software engineer at Bullhorn Inc. Always up for a challenge, he jumped into teaching by accepting a job at Rectory School as the founding chair of the Computer Science Department. There he built and taught the curriculum for every student from fifth through ninth grade. Through this experience, he discovered within himself a genuine love of teaching and a fascination with how the mind learns, which he is thrilled to bring to Poly. He is particularly excited to expand the school’s offerings around cybersecurity and the ethics of technology. In his free time, you can find Dylan traveling for a Magic: The Gathering tournament, reading fantasy, sci-fi, politics, philosophy, and poetry, or trying to fool himself into believing he can cook.
