  • ADVANCEMENT MANAGER OF ANNUAL GIVING

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Manager of Annual Giving. The Manager of Annual Giving will support the Director of Annual Giving in their work to support philanthropy at Poly Prep – growing Poly Prep’s Annual Giving programs to achieve specific fundraising and engagement goals in parent participation, alumni participation, faculty and staff participation, and all donor constituencies. Successful candidates will possess a solid understanding of fundraising in independent schools in an increasingly competitive environment. She, he, or they will bring enthusiasm, superb organizational skills, commitment to confidentiality, and a positive attitude in their duties.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Manages the planning of cultivation and stewardship events for new families, returning families, major donor prospects, and volunteers.
    • Schedules meetings, prepares talking points, pulls donor profiles, and oversees full meeting preparation for Director of Annual Giving.
    • Prepares profiles on donors for Stewardship meetings.
    • Provides high quality and dependable data that supports and strengthens Poly Prep’s increased fundraising efforts.
    • Assists in the creation of stewardship pieces (donor reports, invitations, reports, appeals) re: Annual Giving and ensures pieces are delivered in a timely manner.
    • Assists in the management of volunteer assignments and follow-up communication, and planning of all volunteer-led events.
    • Strategizes and implements methodology for maximizing the efficient management of the organization’s constituents through the effective use of Raiser’s Edge.
    • Assists in the management of parent-to-parent outreach, and engagement strategies among the parent community.
    • Aids in reunion-based fundraising program in close collaboration with the Director of Alumni Relations and Director of Annual Giving.
    • Maintains Annual Giving calendar to maximize cultivation events and keep annual giving cycle on track.
    • Manages a small portfolio of prospective new parent donors for each academic year.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:  Bachelor’s degree

    Experience:  3-5 years of experience in fundraising, specifically annual giving

  • ADVANCEMENT SERVICES ASSOCIATE (Leave Replacement)

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Advancement Services Associate (Leave Replacement). The Advancement Services Associate supports all areas of the Advancement Office, with an emphasis on gift acknowledgement and office management in order to maintain and strengthen our work with donors. The Advancement Associate provides a key element supporting and advancing the work of all functions within the Advancement Office.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Manages gift processing and acknowledgement in a timely and accurate fashion and in accordance with Poly Prep’s gift acceptance policies.
    • Ensures pledges are recorded properly and support the team in preparation of monthly pledge reminder letters/emails.
    • Prepares and executes the Segal Protocol thank you phone calls list daily for the Advancement team.
    • Works on monthly and annual reconciliation with the Finance Office.
    • Prepares and delivers data requests on time and discusses them with the Director of Advancement Services when needed.
    • Supports managers and directors of various Advancement Office programs (Annual Giving, Alumni Relations, Major Gifts, and Events/Parents Relations) to provide accurate and properly formatted gift data reports, analyze data, manage event data, and support production of the Impact Report data.
    • Performs periodic maintenance to ensure gift data is up-to-date, accurate, de-duplicated and that best practices are being implemented and documented.
    • Reconciles Amex Bill monthly with the Business
    • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • ADVANCEMENT SUMMER INTERN

    Poly Prep is seeking applicants for a wonderful opportunity as a Summer Advancement Intern. The purpose of this position is to assist the Advancement Office, which is the main fundraising arm of Poly Prep with critical summer projects.  While the position focuses on assisting the advancement team with administrative tasks and goals, the candidate chosen will also gain and  develop solicitation and research experience, while also acquiring key knowledge of both internal and external relationship and stakeholder management strategies.

    START: Immediate through August 18, 2022. Flexible number of weeks during this period of time.

    Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    • Assist team with incoming parent research and manage the office return mail process.
    • Perform outreach to alumni and past parents to positively update our database to promote data integrity.
    • Research Peer School Annual Reports of incoming families to assist in assigning appropriate giving levels.
    • Maintain and Update the Peer School Annual Report Library.
    • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Poly Prep Archives.
    • Perform phone and email outreach solicitations to achieve end of fiscal year fundraising goals.
    • Assist with data entry on high school student attributes.

    Your experience in this position will include:

    • Interacting with alumni, past parents, and school administrators

  • ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH (Part-Time)

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach. The Assistant Coach is responsible for, assisting, developing and maintaining an effective and competitive football program.  The retention of quality student-athletes in this program will be integral to this position.  The Assistant Coach is responsible for all aspects of the football program to include the ongoing development of the student-athletes.  The Assistant Coach will also be expected to demonstrate the ability to promote the physical, intellectual, and social growth of student-athletes.

    START: Immediate, Part-Time

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Providing instruction to athletes of all skill levels
    • Attending all practices and games which is a 5-6 day a week commitment, Monday-Friday are practices 3:30 PM – 5:50 PM

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for a Security Officer position to join our dynamic Operations team. Full time position available with additional shifts, holiday coverage and shift flexibility as needed. Position entails conducting rounds throughout the facility including locker rooms. This position will report to the Director of Safety and Security.

2022-2023 ACADEMIC YEAR OPENINGS

  • DIRECTOR OF FORENSICS AND DEBATE (MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOLS)

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Director of Forensics and Debate. This appointment will be for July 1, 2022.  Our nationally recognized Speech and Debate program offers a robust experience for our diverse student population, Grades 6-12, in all aspects of competition. We seek an energetic, visionary, and organizationally talented individual who will model debating excellence for our students, instruct them in state-of-the-art practices, and develop partnerships to expand our program internationally.

    START: July 1, 2022  

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Develop and oversee innovative initiatives to ensure competitive success of the Speech and Debate program
    • Develop Speech and Debate curricula that ensure student growth and learning
    • Hire and evaluate expert Speech and Debate faculty, coaches, and judges
    • Collaborate with division heads and departmental supervisors on program proposals, development, and staffing
    • Work closely with Associate Director of Speech to oversee coaches and judges during all interactions with students (classes, practices, and tournaments) to ensure adherence to standards of professionalism and school values
    • Organize and implement team recruitment events consistent with school planning procedures
    • Coordinate and lead tournament travel, including registration, reservations, on-site logistics, and supervision of students
    • Lead a limited number of national travel trips as approved by supervisors
    • Teach two Debate classes. Responsible for lesson planning and curriculum development, timely grading practices, clear communication with parents, deans, division directors, and department chair about student progress, daily attendance, and coverage
    • Run weekly team practices in Upper and Middle School
    • Attend and contribute to professional meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to department, committee, division, and grade-level meetings
    • Manage debate annual budget including overseeing student billing; monthly reconciliation of credit card account; monthly submission of reimbursements

  • LOWER SCHOOL NURSE

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Lower School Nurse. The School Nurse manages the health office to ensure optimum health and safety of students and staff. They will  provide immediate medical care and accurate management of medication and information to maximize health and wellness in the school community. In addition, this role provides wellness support through individual education and resource development for students, employees, and parents.  This position will begin July 1, 2022.

    START: July 1, 2022

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Provide both emergency and preventative nursing care for all persons at the Park Slope campus, including necessary follow-up arrangements and health screenings. Maintain first aid equipment to be used in the building and on field trips
    • Maintain school health policies to protect the health of students and staff in accordance with the guidelines of the NYC and NYS Dept. of Health such as vaccination records and yearly physical exam forms
    • Follow procedures for storing and administering both prescription and over the counter medications for students and staff, including emergency medications such as Epipens
    • Maintain accurate student health records in a confidential manner in order to provide health reports and statistical analysis, and for monitoring students with health conditions/concerns. Complete confidential employee health and injury records/incident reports
    • Provide necessary direction to administrators in the event of a health crisis to ensure the situation is managed in a manner that will minimize anxiety and optimize the health, safety and well-being of the Poly Prep community

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:  Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Valid Registered Professional Nurse license in the state of New York

    Experience:  Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in schools or as a pediatric Emergency Department nurse

    • High-level interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to students from Nursery through Grade 4 and their families
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated organizational and crisis management skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm in high pressure situations

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL COUNSELOR/PSYCHOLOGIST

    Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle School Counselor/Psychologist for the 2022-2023 academic year. The Middle School Counselor/Psychologist responds to the social, emotional and mental health needs of pre-teen students through providing culturally responsive, student centered individual or small group counseling, preventative mental health programming and crisis intervention. The MS Counselor is part of the school counseling team and collaborates with administrators, families and outside treatment providers around individual student needs, participates in division-wide planning and teaches course content related to their expertise as a mental health provider.     • Provide individual short-term supportive counseling and referrals to students aged 10-14 years old.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:  Graduate degree and license in psychology, social work or counseling.

Experience with neuropsychological testing and children with learning differences.
