Program Overview

Poly’s softball players have developed quite the formidable reputation over the years with their strong defense, outstanding hitters and competitive pitching. With an emphasis on fundamentals, dedication, and sportsmanship, players strive to reach their full potential through fast-paced practices, a year-round strength and conditioning program, and drills to improve speed and coordination. 

The team is guided by Renae Beauchman, a former LIU Brooklyn All-American who built the highly successful Manhattan Mayhem Softball Club. One of the most competitive and cohesive teams in their league, Poly softball remains primed for many more years atop the standings.

Renae Beauchman

Education: Long Island University, BS

A native of Los Angeles, Beauchman played baseball until she was 12, then began playing softball with the San Fernando-based travel team, Valley Breeze before taking her game to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA. She attendedLIU Brooklyn on a scholarship, graduating in 2010 with a B.S. in Biology and earning First Team NAIA All-American, First Team All-Northeast Conference First Team, and NFCA All-Northeast Team honors. Beauchman founded the Manhattan Mayhem Softball Club, which hosts year-round clinics and fields 12U and 18U travel teams, and runs a summer camp through Peter Stuyvesant Little League. She joined Poly as head varsity softball coach and Middle School PE teacher in the fall of 2019. 

Softball Facilities

The softball team trains and competes on Poly Prep’s on campus on the school’s newly renovated, state-of-the-art softball field (2023). They have year round access to the recently renovated Mark Hindy ’91 Training Center, a state of the art indoor batting and pitching facility.
