Endowment Giving

Endowment funds add to the long-term financial strength of Poly Prep, and are among the most important strategies for moderating tuition increases. These funds live in perpetuity, and while the principal remains intact and growing, a portion of the yearly income is used to support the operating budget or an area designated by the donor.

A named endowment fund may be established with a minimum gift of $100,000.

A gift of any size may be made to an already-existing fund.

Endowed Faculty Positions: Investing in Our Faculty and Staff

In keeping with the country day school philosophy, we seek best-in-class faculty members who will share a passion for learning and encourage our students forward in the pursuit of excellence. Poly Prep strives to be an equitable, just, and diverse community, one proud of and deeply committed to empowering students to discover who they are and what they want to be. When a faculty position at Poly is endowed, it ensures that the position will always be supported, regardless of fluctuations in our budget. DEIB Director

We believe that anti-racism is an essential element and pre-condition of academic excellence. Poly currently seeks to fully endow our Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), building on a seed gift.

Financial Aid: Attending to Every Student

Our financial aid program brings bright and creative students from all five boroughs to Poly. Participants in our financial aid program excel in academics, athletics, and the arts, impacting and enriching our school beyond measure. Robust financial aid, and the excellence we seek, go hand in hand. The achievements of all of our students bring distinction to Poly today and impacts the world beyond; an endowed financial aid program shows our commitment to equity in our admissions and enrollment process.

Growing Financial aid is critical to Poly Prep’s mission of increasing diversity and building a school community that reflects the five boroughs of New York City and beyond.

For the 2022-2023 academic year, over 20% of our students participated in our Financial Aid program, which had a budget of over $10.5 million. Our Financial Aid program extends beyond the cost of tuition. There are life-changing opportunities found in every corner of Poly Prep, and we want all of our students to have a full experience during their time with us.

Capital Gifts: Enhancing Our Learning Environment

From time to time, even the most beautiful campus needs a little work. A key priority is to maintain our historic campuses (Park Slope and Dyker Heights) to ensure they meet the needs of our current students. Gifts toward capital improvements, which include many attractive naming opportunities, ensure that teachers and students have the most modern and technologically-advanced spaces in which to work. Classrooms, athletic facilities, the Poly Arts Center, locker rooms, and dining areas continue to be top priorities for the school, and their care is an integral part of our strategy for remaining competitive among independent schools.
