Girls’ Squash

Program Overview

Poly Girls’ Squash has built a competitive program under the guidance of world-class coaches. In 2020, the squad won a second straight Ivy Prep League title and finished runner-up at the NYSAIS tournament with former Trinity College standout Travis Judson at the helm. The Blue Devils have sent numerous players off to prestigious colleges, with 2020 graduates heading to programs at The George Washington University and Bates College, among other schools. Since late 2015, the team has played its home matches at the state-of-the-art Novogratz Center for Athletics, which boasts nine courts within its spacious 28,000-square-foot confines.

Education: Trinity College, BS

Since earning his introduction to the sport in grade school, Travis Judson has been immersed in the close-knit, but steadily growing squash community. Following six years of varsity participation at the Brunswick School in his hometown of Greenwich, Connecticut, he joined Paul Assaiante’s storied program at Trinity College, where he lost just once in four years and captained the team amid its 252-match winning streak. Judson went on to coach at the Apawamis Club in Rye, NY, and joined the professional squash circuit, before taking over the Poly program in 2019. At the time, he says, his goal was to “instill a championship mentality and get the student-athletes to be the best versions of themselves.”  Judson led the boys to their fifth Ivy Prep League title in 2020 and a final ranking of No. 15 in the country. He also led the defending Ivy Prep League Champion Poly girls’ to another Ivy Prep League Championship in 2020.
