Erika Freeman P’24, ’26, ’28, ’32 joined Poly’s faculty in 1995 and for more than three decades has been one of the school’s most beloved and respected community members. A science teacher, Upper School Dean, softball and basketball coach, Dean of Faculty, and former Director of DEIB, Erika has held many roles—all in service of ensuring every student and faculty member feels a true sense of belonging.

In her current role, Erika focuses on shaping the Grade 9 experience—building community, fostering connection, and setting the tone for the four years ahead. Working closely with her colleagues, she develops grade-level programming that supports students academically and socially, spearheads student leadership training as well as student mentoring initiatives.

A winner of Poly’s 2018 Spirit Award, presented to a faculty or staff member who embodies the values Poly seeks to instill in its students, Erika brings that same spirit to everything she does.
