James Megahan joined Poly Prep as a Middle & Upper School Learning Support Specialist in 2021. James began his career in Chicago as a high school social studies instructor before moving to New York, where he taught middle school English and special education. Throughout his career, James has especially enjoyed working with students one-on-one and in small groups and in helping scholars to become more aware of their individual strengths and goals. Originally from Columbia, MO, James earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Truman State University and a Master of Science in secondary education from Northwestern University. When not on campus, James loves to explore and connect with the city by foot, scoping out new restaurants and spotting his fellow pedestrians’ canine friends.
