Poly Prep faculty are lifelong learners. In the summer of 2018, math teacher Stephen Bates completed two courses toward his doctorate, one in coaching and mentoring, and another in human development and psychology at Hofstra University. That summer, Poly funded professional development for 75 faculty members. Stephen earned a bachelor’s and a master’s at St. Joseph’s College on Long Island. He has taught in our Middle School since 2017. Stephen advises Poly’s Middle School Math Stars, who placed first place overall at a math competition at Parkside School in 2019.
