Tesvara is a student who truly enriches the classroom environment while bringing discussion to another level entirely. She is generous with her time and ensures that if a student is struggling and asks for her help, she always takes time out of her busy schedule to help those in need. Tes has been a leader on Poly’s Robotics team and a star in STEM classes, but she’s also found time to let her artistic and entrepreneurial skills shine through her custom footwear company Krato Customs. Poly has helped sate Tes’s hunger for knowledge and genuine connection with those around her. Tesvara will attend Stanford University in the fall. She lives in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Shaza’s indisputable excellence is matched by constructive, collaborative work in every classroom she enters. She is deceivingly quiet at first, but she’s an enthusiastic, eager intellectual partner. Shaza’s passions lie in English and the humanities, and at Poly she found her creative voice through her readings at Coffeehouse. Her academic prowess is far-reaching, and she’s challenged herself through advanced electives across the curriculum, taking full advantage of the unique offerings available at Poly. Shaza will attend Williams College in the fall. She lives in Dongan Hills, Staten Island.

Elektra lives and breathes hard work, good work, and clutch performance in all that she does, from the classroom to the pool and everywhere in between. Just as she must train for grueling water polo matches, she understands that her intellect is a muscle that needs to be stretched and trained each and every day. Elektra is a determined student, never shying away from a challenge and always striving to be the best she can be. Poly has proven to be not only a great training ground for Elektra’s athletic pursuits, but also her openness about herself and her enthusiasm for learning. Elektra will play water polo for UCLA. She lives in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.

Kyle brings wit, curiosity, and joy into every classroom he enters. He is truly a natural and fearless learner: unafraid to share ideas or ask questions, and happiest when he is pursuing new, independent paths to learning and understanding. Kyle has exhausted our computer science curriculum, understanding the topics in such a deeply organic way that surpasses many of his peers. Poly has not only given him the knowledge base to achieve amazing things in the world of computer science, but also a community with whom to grow and empathize. Kyle will attend MIT in the fall. He lives in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.
