A longtime Poly Prep Lower School tradition, begun by former teacher Pat Morris, continued when Grade 4 hosted the Festival of Lights for younger students and faculty in the Big Room. Children read aloud about the celebrations of Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Diwali, Yalda, Christmas, Hanukkah, Lunar New Year, and Winter Solstice as teachers lit candles. Head of School Audrius Barzdukas and Head of Lower School Francis Yasharian were special guests at the delicious feast that followed.
It is always a treat when an author comes to Poly and students get to speak with a favorite writer.
