Valentina A. ’27

“I love going to Poly Prep because you’re never alone,” said Valentina A. ’27. “Everyone’s always there to support you when you’re struggling and if there’s a conflict going on, there are always people you can go to for help. When I first walked into Lower School, I was a little nervous. I would be the newcomer. However, there I was walking through the doors of the most loving, caring, empathetic, and supporting school ever. Everyone greeted me with big smiles. Poly’s wide range of both academics and activities opens up a lot of doors. I absolutely love sports! Poly provides the opportunity to play every sport to explore and physically get involved so when you want to engage in organized sports, you have had a taste of everything. I also love theater. Poly has a very big theater and we even get to have drama classes there. Poly’s theater program is different from other schools because it’s very advanced and you’re given all of the tools that you would get in a professional environment. Throughout 5th grade, you try out four new languages. We learn Mandarin, French, Latin, and Spanish. Then, once you get to 6th grade you choose the language you found most intriguing. The same process happens with dance, art, and drama. In 6th grade, you get to choose what form of art you want to do. Because you were exposed to all of them in 5th grade, your decision will come more naturally. I think that in the future because I was surrounded by all of these great people and filled with such good energy I will always remember to be kind, respectful, and understanding to everyone around me. Something that I also will take away from this school and the people in it is that it’s OK to make mistakes, that it’s OK to be scared, and that it’s important to be yourself. Thank you Poly for making me feel at home, a home away from home.”
